Cannabis has more medical applications than any other medicine known to man. However, many insurance companies, like Kaiser, will not put you on a list to get a necessary organ transplant if you use medical marijuana.
Why does the federal government still classify cannabis as a schedule one drug?
From www.dea.gov;
Schedule I
Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Schedule I drugs are the most dangerous drugs of all the drug schedules with potentially severe psychological or physical dependence. Some examples of Schedule I drugs are:
heroin, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), marijuana (cannabis), 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy), methaqualone, and peyote.
Schedule II drugs are considered to have a high possibility of addiction but seen as less addictive than schedule I drugs. less than 15 milligrams of hydrocodone per dosage unit (Vicodin), cocaine, methamphetamine, methadone, hydromorphone (Dilaudid), meperidine (Demerol), oxycodone (OxyContin.)
Okay, so our government is saying that OxcyContin, methamphetamine, Demerol, Vicodin and cocaine are less addictive than marijuana? That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. And it's just not true!
From this day forward, I vow to grow medicinal cannabis for those with illnesses that can benefit from it. I also promise to set the record straight and expose the US government's lies and hypocrisy on this subject. I shall refer to it as my Hippopotamus Oath.
